September already! I think I must have missed summer….
Had a great weekend. The All British Field Meet took place at Portland International Raceway. Over 650 British cars all in one spot! My MG made part of the trip courtesy of a tow truck, but a new fuel filter seems to have taken care of the problem. One of the joys of older cars is that you can actually work on them (or Charlie can). While our car didn’t win any prizes, our friend Sandy took 2nd place with her Triumph Vitesse and another Long Beach car (a gorgeous 1953 Jaguar XK120) owned by the Grambos took first place in its class.
Also going on that weekend was the Columbia Classic Historic Auto Race. We were “pit crew” for both a Lotus Elan and a Porsche IMSA Racer. What a great weekend….
BIG INTEREST RATE DROP!! If you’ve been waiting, now’s the time. Interest rates were at 5.875% this morning. Plenty of places to chose from and a great rate means a place at the beach for you!
Just a reminder to those of you out looking at properties – please respect the rights of property owners. Chances are, if there’s no “for sale” sign, the property isn’t for sale! I know those long, lovely driveways are very tempting, but remember, someone lives at the end of that road. And if the property is on the market, please be mindful of the hour of day and whether you’re turning around on someone’s drainfield! I know none of my readers are guilty of such things!
