Clatsop Weavers & Spinners Workshop

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

What a great time we had!  Saturday and Sunday, July 25 & 26, 2009, the Clatsop Weavers & Spinners Guild hosted a workshop by Janis Thompson of Eugene, OR.  The theme was Adventures in Color and we spent 2 days creating incredible rovings on our carders and then spinning and plying.  It was all fascinating and fun!

Our guild meets monthly for business on the 3rd Tuesday at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum in Ilwaco, WA.  The spinners meet on the 1st Tuesday either in Ocean Park (the beautiful Long Beach Peninsula) or Astoria, OR (also beautiful!) and every Thursday evening at the Shelburne Inn.

This secluded cutie needs some TLC but the roof was new in 2004.  3 bedrooms, 3 baths, 1504 square feet.  Property is just over one acre.  Great room has vaulted ceilings and a propane stove.  Laminate floors, wood-burning fireplace and a great hot-tub room which would also make a good plant room.  Attached oversized 2 car garage plus a bunk house complete the picture of this Ocean Park cutie!  A good place to use your first time homebuyer credit…  Click on the photo above for more info!

I drove to Portland to take possession of Charlie’s “Porsche”.  The cutest boxer pup you could imagine, but this Porsche seems to have a water leak!

Porsche meets a few of the household cats. They weren’t sure what she was. Knew she wasn’t a cat so no competition there, but not a dog either so they weren’t scared of her. Gabbie, Julie & Frank seemed the most unconcerned about the whole affair and were even interested in playing. Of course, her food was a real show stopper!

Thursday, June 9 was the wonderful Art Walk at the Port of Ilwaco.  Porsche walked on her leash almost all the way from home to the Port.  After that, her feet hardly touched the ground because everyone wanted to cuddle her!  By the time we ended the evening at Raven & Finch, she was plumb tuckered out.
