CHANGES COMING:
“The Guaranteed Rural Housing (GRH) Program will be implementing procedural changes in the upcoming months. On October 1st, 2011, we will be lowering the GRH fee from the current 3.5% back to 2% for new applications. Effective with this change, we will be implementing an annual fee. The annual fee will be 0.3% of the outstanding balance of the loan. ” What does this mean to you? Ask me and I’ll let you know!
COMING UP!
There’s always so much to do here on the peninsula. I know I can’t hit them all (but you can check Funbeach and follow the multitude of posts on Facebook). Here are some that I’m promoting this week:
EMPTY BOWLS March 12th from Noon until 2 pm at the Peninsula Church Center in Seaview, you can support FISH Emergency Services, His Supper Table and Community Table while enjoying gourmet soup donated by local eateries. The $10.00 donation includes a hand made pottery bowl to take home!
QUILT SHOW March 18, 19 and 20 at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum. Sponsored by the Peninsula Quilt Guild, enjoy the 16th annual show entitled “Quilting at the Beach”. Free admission plus you’ll want to buy a raffle ticket for the “Salt Water Taffy” prize quilt.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST March 19 from 10 to 1 at the Chautauqua Lodge Meeting Room. A free breakfast to meet your 2011 Long Beach Relay for Life team. Meet some of our survivors! Donations are gladly accepted but not required. www.relayforlife.org/longbeachwa
Want to know more about the Columbia River Channel Improvement Project and the Columbia River Jetties? The Columbia River Channel Coalition is the place to go. If your organization is looking for an interesting program, I can highly recommend Lisa Pomasl! She was the speaker at the Rotary Club of SW Pacific County Peninsula this week and gave an fascinating presentation.
FIBER SATURDAY March 5 from 10 until about 2, the Clatsop Weavers and Spinners Guild will be demonstrating spinning (and maybe some weaving) at the Olde Towne Trading Post in Ilwaco. Bring your wheel, drop spindle, knitting or curiousity and join us!
That’s all for today. Real estate continues to march along into March.
Discovery Coast Real Estate has some wonderful properties for sale! And if one of those isn’t what you’re looking for, we can show and sell any property listed for sale. We can even help with those FSBOs.
