Clatsop Weavers & Spinners Workshop

Everything!, Weaving & Spinning | Posted by Cheri Diehl

What a great time we had!  Saturday and Sunday, July 25 & 26, 2009, the Clatsop Weavers & Spinners Guild hosted a workshop by Janis Thompson of Eugene, OR.  The theme was Adventures in Color and we spent 2 days creating incredible rovings on our carders and then spinning and plying.  It was all fascinating and fun!

Our guild meets monthly for business on the 3rd Tuesday at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum in Ilwaco, WA.  The spinners meet on the 1st Tuesday either in Ocean Park (the beautiful Long Beach Peninsula) or Astoria, OR (also beautiful!) and every Thursday evening at the Shelburne Inn.

ANWG 2009 #weaving #spinning

Cats In Our Lives, Weaving & Spinning | Posted by Cheri Diehl

What a great time we had in Spokane! Cheri, Jill, Marty, Sharon, Lori, Ann & Sondra were able to travel to Gonzaga for the 2009 ANWG Conference. We attended several seminars, did lots of shopping and Cheri & Jill were able to stay for post-conference workshops.  Sondra planned an early morning surprise party for Marty’s “big” birthday and Marty treated everyone to a beer after dinner.  While our Guild Booth didn’t win any awards, we think it was one of the best!  Enjoy the photos.  They aren’t in any specific order.  If you put the cursor on them, they’ll give you a title.

May Weavers Guild Meeting

Everything! | Posted by Cheri Diehl

Great turnout for the meeting at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum in Ilwaco, WA.  We had a business meeting, enjoyed our brown bag lunches and some show ‘n share.  We also had a mini-yard sale of weaving/spinning/knitting goodies that members wanted to sell.  After the meeting a few of us headed to Marty’s house to work on the guild booth for ANWG.

Spinning at the Shelburne Inn
