Did you know? – O&M Policy for Pacific County

Cheri Diehl April 18, 2014

Did you knowFirst off, what’s O&M?  That stands for Operation and Maintenance and has to do with the septic system.  Pacific County policy is that prior to a property transfer (sale or otherwise), the owner of record is to provide the buyer with the OSS (On Site Septic) maintenance records (if available).  Additionally, an OSS inspection report is to be done by a County licensed Operation and Maintenance Specialist.

The policy pertaining to this ordinance is that the inspection reports will be valid for one (1) year, regardless of the type of system.  Previously, gravity system inspections were valid for more than one year.

Buyers and sellers need to be aware of this ordinance.  If it is not done, the new owner will be faced with doing it!
